The new Holywell Park Stadium on the Loughborough University Campus will be one of the best university stadiums in the UK. Funded by Loughborough University with a grant from the Football Foundation, the £2.8 million project has seen the creation of a brand new stadium with floodlighting, perimeter fencing and seating. The new floodlit stadium provides accommodation for nearly 4000 spectators, fourteen team changing rooms, officials changing, meeting room, social area with bar and kitchen for 250 guests and covered tiered seating for 300 spectators. We were asked by the contractors to provide and install Temp-A-Path with ramp edges. The objective for this permanent installation was to provide safe permanent walkways for easy access to the site, whilst also providing protection for the ground underneath. We were delighted to recommend and sell our new Temp-A-Path product knowing that it easily met all of the key requirements for this brand new facility. The new stadium was officially opened with a celebratory fixture against a Tottenham Hotspur under 20 XI. Former England striker and Tottenham Hotspur Assistant Coach Clive Allen commented: “We are delighted to be invited to play in the exhibition match against Loughborough to help celebrate the launch of the new stadium. It really is a fantastic facility and we are very much looking forward to returning.” A few days later the world famous Barbarians rugby union team took to the field, led by Scotland manager Andy Robinson. In front of an almost full house the University Students, recently promoted to National League One, lost 40-7 in an entertaining and free flowing game.

Event Flooring Solutions (EFS) recently held a month long series of open days at Beacon View Farm in Quorn. These events attracted new clients from all over the UK and the display area featured a range of pathway, walkway and flooring products all designed with specific temporary flooring needs in mind. Overall the open days generated over £250,000 of enquiries and also secured over £120,000 of confirmed orders for the summer. Seeing the product on site allowed organisers from MTV, BBC, Summer Sundae, Shambala and a wider audience to really put it to the test and confirm their orders. Jeremy Simpson, Business Development Manager of EFS commented, “All of our visitors were delighted at the chance to leave their busy offices and view our products in a wonderful local setting as they would actually be used. The ambiance and location definitely gave us a real edge over competitors.” He added, “Clearly without the help of Walter Turner in providing the land and Phil and his team at The Manor who helped with the hospitality, these events would not have been possible." From its launch in May 2011, EFS has grown rapidly and continues to grow from strength to strength. With the help of these new orders the business will continue to grow and develop these new opportunities. EFS supplies its innovative flooring systems to festivals, events and shows across the UK.

Hex Road once again returned to the Cardinal Vaughan primary school in South West London, where it was used to transform an area of the school's grounds into an overspill car park for major Rugby matches at Twickenham Stadium. By making use of 1,500m² of Hex Road product, it was a simple and quick task to cover and protect the area. Using Hex Road also allowed for swift removal of the temporary surface due to its lightweight nature. The Hex Road product protected the school grounds for both the Aviva Premiership final between Leicester Tigers and Harlequins and the following days match between England and the Barbarians. Both of these exciting games attracted near full houses at the home of English Rugby. Jeremy Simpson, Business Development Manager of EFS commented, “Hex Road allows our clients to increase their revenues by maximising their use of their grounds without causing any damage. Unlike similar aluminium products, Hex Road doesn’t require heavy plant machinery to install it or overnight security to guard against metal thieves.”

Following a £15 million refurbishment of London’s Leicester Square, Event Flooring Solutions were delighted to be appointed by Andy Cheeseman Productions to provide temporary walkways for the recent re-launch of this iconic venue. Making use of their outstanding Temp-A-Path product, EFS were happy to assist in this exciting re-opening. Following a briefing from ACP, the constraints of both delivery and team work were well understood by EPS. Working alongside their fellow contractors EFS were able to deliver and install 600m² of Temp-A-Path within the tight 21 hour deadline. EFS Business Development Manager, Jeremy Simpson commented “We were delighted to be offered this fantastic opportunity – but we had to be mindful of the logistical challenges it provided. Working with more than 10 separate companies can have its moments but we managed to complete the task within the timescale” He added, “With the logistics of both time and getting the product onto site I thought it would be tight, thankfully our guys managed to work alongside the other contractors to get the job done” As Portable Flooring Specialists – EFS were able to recommend the ideal solution for this exciting project. Temp-A-Path was selected from the current EFS range as being the ideal solution for both speed of installation and wearability.
