We were appointed by Kambe Events for the third year in succession to provide and install temporary flooring for their festival site and camping areas at Kelmarsh Hall in Northamptonshire. The annual Shambala takes place for 4 days over the August Bank Holiday weekend and has been described by The Independent as "In a nutshell- energetic, playful, bonkers, theatrical, green”. Over the past 5 years the festival has grown by over one third to some 15,000 visitors and with this year’s event selling completely out well in advance of the dates, it was apparent that in 2013 it would be bigger than ever and as such additional flooring would be required. For general vehicle access both to and around the site we installed 1060m² of Hex Road , this was also used to create a hard standing Bus Park within the grounds of the hall. For the toilets and showers facilities we installed 500m² of Temp-A-Path® in 6 separate locations around the site. Additionally we added a further parking area of 3m by 150m. Jeremy Simpson – Business Development Manager for EFS commented, “The Shambala Festival was one of the first jobs that EFS worked on, it’s fantastic that Kambe Events had faith in us and we were obviously delighted to be appointed as suppliers for the third year. The festival has grown over the years and both of our products offer the flexibility required by organisers” Shambala started well over a decade ago as a motley collection of dreamers, thinkers, artists, radicals and romanticists who decided to get together under the stars over a summer weekend. Their aim - “to make a place to party, free our minds, lose our hearts, learn, discuss and be inspired and see what is achievable as a community.” Shambala is a space to play, to reinvent, revitalise and then to return to the world fuelled-up on the beauty of being alive. It’s a playground, a realm for wild experimentation and alternative education where unforgettable life skills are shared, learned and put to use.
