EFS Europe Returns for Insomnia 54 at Ricoh Arena

Insomnia – the UK's biggest gaming festival – returned to Coventry's Ricoh Arena over the Easter weekend and welcomed over 30,000 visitors. Central to the event was its giant Kayam temporary structure, which once again housed the main stage and many of the social events that supplemented the exhibition hall and gaming rooms. Having been located on the stadium grass pitch at the previous Insomnia event, the Kayam structure was this time situated on the stadiums car park.
Continuing its relationship with organisers Multiplay, EFS Europe installed over 2,700m² of its Temp-A-Path™ product within and around the Kayam structure, providing safe pedestrian access and a stable internal floor. The 20mm ground clearance offered by the Temp-A-Path™ also meant that any rainwater would wash beneath the floor, avoiding any standing water forming within the venue. In addition to the Temp-A-Path™ , EFS Europe installed 400m² of its bladed Polo artificial grass, which was used to create an outdoor picnic and chill out zone. A five-man installation team went onsite at 8pm on 31st March and worked overnight to install all of the materials. A seven man team then worked from midnight on Sunday 5th April to uplift all of the EFS Europe products, with the all materials palletised and ready for transport by 5am on the Monday morning.
Commenting on the project, EFS Europe Business Development Manager Jeremy Simpson said: "The Insomnia events go from strength to strength. As its audience continues to expand, each event grows and the production becomes bigger and better in terms of the planning and execution. We are very proud to be involved with such an innovative organisation and welcome the opportunity to work with Multiplay on any events it plans in the future."
