Temporary ice rinks have become a popular way for major venues and cities to celebrate the festive season and attract footfall. This year, EFS Europe has had the privilege of working in some fantastic locations for two of the UK's biggest producers of temporary outdoor ice rinks.
Cousins Entertainment – founded by British ice skating legend Robin Cousins – contracted EFS Europe to supply and fit products at its sites in Cardiff, the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace and the Bluewater Shopping Centre. Our gel backed carpet was used for the skate changing areas, with stud backed carpet installed in the outdoor viewing galleries. In addition, two of the locations used EFS Cater Floor for its kitchen areas.
2015 also sees Cousins Entertainment install an ice rink in the historic town of Bury St Edmunds for the first time. EFS Europe installed the same product ranges in this venue as the other Cousins locations, with the added benefit of having good local knowledge of the town centre having supplied the town's Christmas market with our EFS Temp-A-Path™ product for several years.
In Wembley, Cambridge and Liverpool, EFS Europe worked with Icebox to supply and install similar carpet products at its temporary ice rinks. In addition, the sites at Hampton Court Palace and the Tower of London also utilised our wood effect vinyl for the spectator areas.
It total, EFS Europe will have supplied over 4,000m2 of flooring products to temporary ice rinks during the 2015 festive season, a record amount for the company at this time of year.
