As part of the European Championships Glasgow 2018, eight days of free family fun are taking place at StrathclydeCountryPark in August.
To support the event, EFS have supplied 388 linear metres of 2 metre pathways around the marquees and toilet areas. In 2017, NL Leisure purchased 7500sqm of EFS's translucent Temp-A-Path and the flooring is available for re-hire for any event throughout Scotland. EFS have put in place, a dedicated team, ready to install and uplift the flooring, as and when required. So, Temp-A-Path and EFS's team are available throughout Scotland!
EFS's Scottish crew installed the Temp-A-Path at StrathclydePark on behalf of North Lanarkshire's Leisure & Culture department.
Go Live! In the Park is celebrating the 250th anniversary of the circus in Scotland with jugglers, clowns, circus skills workshops and Scotland's largest flying trapeze!
"Strathclyde Park is the place to be for great family days out over the eight days in August," said North Lanarkshire Provost Jean Jones. "We're bringing the fun of the circus to Motherwell, with the chance to experience Scotland's largest flying trapeze, standing at an amazing 10 metres high" she continued.
Jeremy Simpson, EFS's Business Development Manager said "We were really pleased to support this important event with our Scottish stock. It's a major foot forward for EFS to have 7500sqm of Temp-A-Path and a crew in Scotland, meaning we can service any event in the region really competitively."
Go Live! In the Park takes place from 2 - 5 and 9 - 12 August, each of the days of the rowing and triathlon competitions.

British athletes dominated the Bolton Ironman competition this year, assisted of course by EFS's Temp-A-Path! For the men, Joe Skipper finally topped the IRONMAN UK podium, whilst Lucy Gossage's domination of this event continued as she won her fifth and perhaps final IRONMAN UK title before retirement.
The organisers of the Ironman UK event – now in its 14th year contacted EFS when they needed to provided a safe and secure transfer area from the swimming to cycling stages. We recommended Temp-A-Path® as the most suitable product for this critical element of the event. Following a 2.4 mile open water swim the athletes leave the lake and transfer to their bikes for a 112 mile cycle followed by a full marathon! So it was vital that we made the transition area safe under foot when covered in water with athletes "sprinting" over it. Over 200m² of Temp-A-Path® was installed by the team to create a safe and secure under foot surface from the lakeside to the transition area. This extreme sporting event attracted over 1,600 athletes from around the globe. Jeremy Simpson – Business Development Manager of EFS commented "With such a demanding high profile athletic event, we knew that it was vital for our product to stand up to the critical demands of the terrain and weather conditions. Dubbed one of the UK's friendliest towns, Bolton has something for everyone in the IRONMAN family. Athletes can take a nature walk with the kids, go shopping, and dine in cozy pubs and restaurants as they prepare for race day - EFS were delighted to be involved and to see great performances from these talented athletes."

Event Flooring Solutions were commissioned by the Royal Horticultural Society to provide temporary event flooring for this year's event at the prestigious Chatsworth House. At the heart of the site sat the interpretation of Joseph Paxton's Great Conservatory, flanked either side by the Cavendish and the Devonshire Floral Marquees, which were home to nurseries, specialist societies and floral design. EFS provided the flooring for each of these marquees with their Temp-A-Path flooring system.
The flooring was installed this year for the first time, to improve accessibility within the two marquees. The installation took place over 2 days with 7 men working 8 ½ eight hours per day, with the uplift taking the crew the same amount of time. All together, 5700sqm of light grey Temp-A-Path was installed; 3300sqm in the larger Devonshire marquee and 2400sqm in the Cavendish. The Temp-A-Path was laid on top of a Geo-membrane to improve protection to the ground below.
Adam Walker, Operations Assistant for the Chatsworth Flower Show said: 'Just thought I'd pass on this snippet from our feedback summary from the first day: Brilliant flooring of large marquees with all stalls – very easy to walk on and if it does rain it will be great.'
Jeremy Simpson, EFS's Business Development Manager said: 'We were delighted to work with the Royal Horticultural Society for the first time and the contract was a major coup for us. We knew that Temp-A-Path would tick all the boxes, it does what it says on the tin!'
The RHS Chatsworth Flower Show offered a thrilling day out that blended tradition with exciting and innovative design. The 5 day show took place from 6 to 10 June with thousands of people flocking to the show.

The popular Celtic rock group Mànran tweeted to their seven-thousand-plus followers: "Our first ever stadium show. It might not be Wembley but Broadwood Stadium is a mighty fine start."
It turns out that this was not only Mànran's first stadium show, it was the stadium's first show, as well. For one night only, the Cumbernauld venue, home to Clyde FC for the last 28 years, was turned into an outdoor music gig. Broadwood: Live by the Loch, it was called. There were three acts: Dougie MacLean was the opener, followed by Mànran and then, shortly after nine o'clock, after an hour or so of steady rain, the headliners, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers did their set and the 2,000 fans went home very happy. Those who had patiently stood in front of the stage, rather than sitting in the covered stands, had got the worst of the rain, but didn't seem to mind too much, especially given they were standing and dancing on EFS's temp-a-path rather than puddles! And within moments the organisers, North Lanarkshire Leisure, were tweeting that the event would return next year, "even bigger and better."
Event Flooring Solutions (EFS) were delighted to supply the temporary flooring for the event. NL Leisure purchased 7500sqm of EFS's translucent temp-a-path in July 2017 and are working in partnership with EFS to offer the flooring to event organisers, local authorities or anyone else that needs it installed by EFS's local crew.
"We did our research, tested some products and Temp-A-Path was the best things for us" said Jim Moffatt, NL Leisure's Business Partnership Manager. "We looked at hiring it, but decided to purchase it and we now have the ability to hire it out to other event organisers in Scotland. The decision to purchase Temp-A-Path has opened up a new market for NL leisure. The purchase of the flooring now allows us to offer both Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility's indoor 3G football pitch and its 8000 seated football stadium, Broadwood, as new event destinations, transforming traditional sports venues into flexible spaces as we have demonstrated with Live by the Loch!" he concluded.
The flooring is available for re-hire for many events that are held not only in the central area, but also throughout Scotland. NL Leisure and EFS are working in partnership to offer the flooring to event organisers, local authorities or anyone else who needs it installed by EFS's dedicated team!
Could this be the start of something for Cumbernauld? The aim is that Broadwood will now go on to host further high-profile concerts. As an academic, Dr Stephen Bowman, wrote approvingly on Twitter: "It's easy to do down #Cumbernauld but full credit to everyone associated with #LivebytheLoch ... Exactly the sort of the kind of thing the town needs and deserves."
The stadium was effectively divided in two for the show, one half remaining cordoned off while the other half was given over to the staging, lighting, PA system, 4000sqm of translucent temp-a-path flooring, the standing fans and the food stalls.
"This all goes back to a Facebook message I got at the back end of January from Gerry McMahon at NL Leisure," said Gary Innes, accordionist with Mànran, in a dressing-room strewn with clothes and musical instruments. "He said, look, we've got the Gaelic school out here, and we want to put on a music event but we don't know who to speak to or what to do, could you come out here for a meeting?"
So Innes met them, and they told him that what they wanted to do was to stage a music festival. He drew on his contacts in the industry, assembled a bill, went back to NL Leisure and got it approved. "They've got a great team and they have worked their socks off to get the stadium," he said. "But when you think about it, the show was signed off only in March, and the turnaround since then has been quite remarkable. A lot of hard work has gone into this."
Graeme Morrison, operations and business development manager at NL Leisure, and one of the event organisers, said the concert had been delivered over a relatively short timescale, compared to the time it would normally take to organise and promoting an event of this size. "While the day itself was very long, it was incredibly rewarding and exhilarating to see so many people enjoying the show. We're already talking about next year. We feel we're in a privileged position to be able to put something like this on for the community and having EFS's flooring in stock makes the job so much easier! Because everybody praised it so much, despite the bad weather, we owe the audience and the community to put this on again next year. We're open to working in partnership with big promoters, but what we've absolutely demonstrated we're capable of putting on our own events."
"This is a legacy event for us," he added. "I want people to be talking about Broadwood: Live by the Loch in twenty years' time."

The William Hill World Darts Championship is the largest and most prestigious darts tournament in the world, attracting sell-out crowds and a global TV audience of well over 10 million across its 19 days from 14 December to 1 January.
The West Hall in 'Ally Pally' has a capacity of 2,500 people per session, meaning that more than 50,000 enthusiastic and hard-partying darts fans will have punished its floors over the Christmas and New Year period. As such, this installation is a terrific test of both product and service quality.
Under the expert guidance of the in-house team at Alexandra Palace, the EFS Europe team worked through Tuesday 13th December and into the night, to have the Hall ready for when the doors opened and play commenced the following afternoon.
And, as has previously been the case, the Electric Blue Event Cord Carpet was chosen to match the branding of title sponsor William Hill, whose corporate colours also adorn the walls and stage within the iconic Victorian venue.
Commenting on what is an extremely important and 'bar-setting' installation for EFS Europe, Business Development Manager Jeremy Simpson said:
"Thanks to the PDC (Professional Darts Corporation) and major sponsors and broadcasters, darts is now one of the world's leading sporting attractions and the quality of event production at the William Hill World Championship is truly world class. EFS Europe is always proud to be chosen to play a role in what has become a legendary fixture in the Christmas and New Year calendar."
"It is a fantastic start to our 2018 business year and on behalf of the entire EFS Europe team, congratulations to Rob Cross on the performance of his life in this year's stunning Championship."

In the historic town of Bury St Edmunds, the Christmas Fayre is a focal part of the local festivities, and EFS Europe has been supplying temporary flooring for the event for the last four years.
Having expanded by over 30%, the organisers needed 2,500m2 of EFS Temp-a-Path™ plastic flooring to protect the city's Cathedral grounds and provide safe pedestrian access for the thousands of visitors.
100 miles north, EFS Europe also returned to the ancient city of Lincoln for its famous market held in the city's historic Castle & Castle Gardens. Attracting over 250,000 visitors, the organisers specified over 2,900m2 of EFS Temp-A-Path™to be installed within the grounds. Having started with just 11 stalls, the market now showcases more than 200 traders and a variety of cultural entertainment.
These winter events choose EFS Temp-A-Path™ due to its lightweight nature, and the fact that all the sites contain historic listed buildings. The ability to install the Temp-A-Path™ by hand allows the organisers to keep heavy plant machinery to a minimum, reducing the risk of damage to property, roads or footpaths. In both locations, Temp-A-Path™ is also used to protect grassed areas, reducing the cost of post-event clean up and maintenance.
Speaking about the projects, EFS Europe Business Development Manager Jeremy Simpson said:
"These events have become a regular feature on our own event calendar. The locations present their own unique challenges, but by using our EFS Temp-A-Path™ product the organisers have been able to grow in size without having to worry about how to protect the site surfaces."

EFS Europe was delighted to help with a wedding with a difference and make the great outdoors accessible for even ladies in heels! The Richardson family contacted us with a little problem… How to convert an arable field into a suitable venue for a series of teepees and their 200 plus guests? After the cornfield was harvested, and with just a week before the wedding, concerns were raised over the condition of the ground, which is when EFS stepped in! An access road was required to the teepees for the wedding guests, catering outlets, generators and toilet blocks. EFS installed their Hex Road, a heavy duty roadway ideal for instant access and car parking at events.
The second part of the brief was to provide a safe, pedestrian friendly, aesthetically pleasing area in front of the teepees for a designated guest area. After being rolled by the farmer, the field was partially covered with 30m x 10m of Temp-A-Path to the front of the teepees and catering outlets. Following installation of the Temp-A-Path, the client decided they wanted the area to resemble an English country garden lawn; EFS then laid their Gadsby 33m pile height Astroturf on top of the Temp-A-Path for a stunning finish. The client then sold on the Astroturf after the event – perfect recycling!
