Kambe Events appointed us for the second year to provide and install temporary flooring for the festival site and camping areas at Kelmarsh Hall in Northamptonshire. For general vehicle access both to and around the site we installed 1060m² of Hex Road , this was also used to create a hard standing Bus Park within the grounds of the hall. For the toilets and showers facilities we installed 500m² of Temp-A-Path®  in 6 separate locations around the site. Shambala takes place for 4 days over the Bank Holiday weekend and described by The Independent as "In a nutshell- energetic, playful, bonkers, theatrical, green” we were delighted to be able to assist again and look forward to 2013

An additional request for this event from Concert Clinic was to protect the newly laid carpet within the De Montfort Hall.  This carpet costing over £85,000 could not be removed and festival goers were expected to attend events within the auditorium. We recommend our Caterer Floor sheeting as the best option.  The product is hard wearing, flame retardant and easy clean white polythene sheeting which is an ideal economic alternative to vinyl flooring. To cover the carpets in the hall we supplied and installed 3 rolls 2m x 100m which provided complete protection from the mud and day to day dirt.

Following the success of the 2011 Summer Sundae festival, Concert Clinic asked us to provide our temporary flooring products for the 2012 event.  Based at Leicester’s De Montfort hall this annual show takes place in a variety of themed marquees, main outdoor stage and the hall itself.  Concert Clinic wanted the products to be installed by their own staff and so ease of usage and installation was vital. For the roadways around the site we provided 650m² of Hex Road , this allowed contractors vehicles, event traffic as well as festival goers to move around the site in safety.  Additionally it protected the grounds of the historic hall and parkland from wear and tear. Within the specialist marquees and big top we provided 350m² of Temp-A-Path .  The sheets are easily to manoeuvre and install which assisted the voluntary staff who laid the flooring. Summer Sundae is an annual event in Leicester’s event calendar, held over 4 days and this year it attracted a number of high profile acts – Adam Ant, Ocean Colour Scene and Public Image Ltd.

Following many previous years successful protection of the University grounds, we were pleased to be re-awarded the contract for this important annual graduation event. With over 4,000 students a day attending over a 4 week duration we supplied and installed 1,500m² of Hex Road , 750m² of Temp-A-Road and 500m² of Temp-A-Path® . Each of our flexible products was put to good use on the University grounds for protection, parking, roadways and additionally flooring within the support marquees. Following a month’s constant rain the products proved to be the ideal protection for the grounds and to assist with the constant traffic – both pedestrian and vehicles.

As part of the Graduation event for the University we were also asked to provide protection for the recently installed sports hall flooring. The brief from the University was to protect the newly installed floor with a suitable carpet barrier onto which seating would be placed.

This bi-annual international exhibition held at Hillhead quarry in Buxton,Derbyshire allows suppliers to the quarrying industry the perfect “Real World” arena to demonstrate and promote their products. This year’s event attracted over 17,000 visitors – a 10% increase on Hillhead 2011, throughout the three days of the show they experienced more live demonstrations and new plant & equipment than ever before, presented by a record 459 exhibitors. We supplied our Temp-A-Path® product in this challenging environment to 14 exhibitors for use on and providing safe access to their stands, additionally the product was used for general hard standing areas.

The award winning Eco house designed and built by students at the University was given its own unique location within the grounds, following a stint within an exhibition environment. The area chosen was however, within University parkland 133m from the nearest road with an incline of over 22m. To install the modular based house onto its new area would require 4 separate articulated lorry loads and a stable area for a mobile crane to operate. Working with the Estates department we were asked to provide a temporary product which would not only allow access for the crane and associated vehicles but would also protect the grounds beneath. We installed 600m² of Hex Road and Geo Membrane to provide the temporary roadway and working platform. Following a month’s constant rain the products proved to be the ideal protection for the grounds and were quick and easy to install and remove.

As part of their sponsorship of the 2012 Olympic Games, Coca Cola arranged a series of outdoor concerts around the UK. These free shows featured diverse acts as Mark Ronson, Emeli Sande, Eliza Doolittle and Dizzee Rascal promoting the games. We were contacted by Leeds council to provide a flooring solution for the site both front of house and also back stage. As both of the areas were to be installed by local staff it was important to provide a simple and easy to use system. For the backstage areas we supplied 100m² of Temp-A-Path® for walkways and for the main area we supplied 600m² of Hex Road with Geo membrane to protect the ground. Both items were installed and removed by The Leeds Council Events Team.

The ASDA superstore at Leyton in London en-route to the main stadium expanded its offering for the Olympics with a temporary coffee shop. The site close to the stadium in Stratford was the ideal venue for passing visitors to stop and relax. Working with Logistic we were able to supply and the ply wood flooring and also the vinyl finish for this temporary venue. We chose the vinyl finish as the most suitable for both the footfall and ease of cleaning daily.

Following an urgent request from WAAP services, we supplied and installed 1400m² of Temp-A-Path from our stocks for this exciting music festival. The site had previously been under 2ft of water following severe storms and on receiving the order at 8pm we arrived on site at 8am the following day to install our Temp-A-Path in all of the beer tents.

Again we were contacted by WAAP services, the marquees and beer tents had been submerged by the rain and so our Temp-A-Path® stock was requested to make the site safe for festival goers. We supplied and installed 250m² of Temp-A-Path® the next day from our stocks and were able to make the adverse ground conditions usable for both the beer tent suppliers and festival goers alike.

Based within the Larmer Tree Garden near Salisbury this event has been running for over 20 years and features music, dance and theatre. With a modest crowd of 4,000 people it is designed for families and described as the “The perfect escape from it all!”. To support the festival and keep it alive we supplied 375m² of Temp-A-Road to assist with the bands, staff and visitors given the adverse weather conditions.

The Royal Welsh Agricultural Show

Considered to the biggest and best attended agricultural show in show in Europe, the Royal Welsh surpassed all expectations with a record crowd of over 241,000 visitors at Builth Wells. Given the constant heavy rain for the previous 5 weeks, the organisers decided to make use of both our Hex Road and Temp-A-Path® products. Previously only the traditionally used aluminium roadways had been approved for the site. We supplied 500m² of Hex Road as a 3m roadway for vehicular access and also 400m² of Temp-A-Path® for pedestrian use. Both products easily stood up to the task in hand, with the organisers declaring them both as ideal solutions. They were also delighted with the fact that the products we supplied were easy to install and remove by their own on site staff.

The new Holywell Park Stadium on the Loughborough University Campus will be one of the best university stadiums in the UK. Funded by Loughborough University with a grant from the Football Foundation, the £2.8 million project has seen the creation of a brand new stadium with floodlighting, perimeter fencing and seating. The new floodlit stadium provides accommodation for nearly 4000 spectators, fourteen team changing rooms, officials changing, meeting room, social area with bar and kitchen for 250 guests and covered tiered seating for 300 spectators. We were asked by the contractors to provide and install Temp-A-Path with ramp edges. The objective for this permanent installation was to provide safe permanent walkways for easy access to the site, whilst also providing protection for the ground underneath. We were delighted to recommend and sell our new Temp-A-Path product knowing that it easily met all of the key requirements for this brand new facility. The new stadium was officially opened with a celebratory fixture against a Tottenham Hotspur under 20 XI. Former England striker and Tottenham Hotspur Assistant Coach Clive Allen commented: “We are delighted to be invited to play in the exhibition match against Loughborough to help celebrate the launch of the new stadium. It really is a fantastic facility and we are very much looking forward to returning.” A few days later the world famous Barbarians rugby union team took to the field, led by Scotland manager Andy Robinson. In front of an almost full house the University Students, recently promoted to National League One, lost 40-7 in an entertaining and free flowing game.

Event Flooring Solutions (EFS) recently held a month long series of open days at Beacon View Farm in Quorn. These events attracted new clients from all over the UK and the display area featured a range of pathway, walkway and flooring products all designed with specific temporary flooring needs in mind. Overall the open days generated over £250,000 of enquiries and also secured over £120,000 of confirmed orders for the summer. Seeing the product on site allowed organisers from MTV, BBC, Summer Sundae, Shambala and a wider audience to really put it to the test and confirm their orders. Jeremy Simpson, Business Development Manager of EFS commented, “All of our visitors were delighted at the chance to leave their busy offices and view our products in a wonderful local setting as they would actually be used. The ambiance and location definitely gave us a real edge over competitors.” He added, “Clearly without the help of Walter Turner in providing the land and Phil and his team at The Manor who helped with the hospitality, these events would not have been possible." From its launch in May 2011, EFS has grown rapidly and continues to grow from strength to strength. With the help of these new orders the business will continue to grow and develop these new opportunities. EFS supplies its innovative flooring systems to festivals, events and shows across the UK.

Hex Road once again returned to the Cardinal Vaughan primary school in South West London, where it was used to transform an area of the school's grounds into an overspill car park for major Rugby matches at Twickenham Stadium. By making use of 1,500m² of Hex Road product, it was a simple and quick task to cover and protect the area. Using Hex Road also allowed for swift removal of the temporary surface due to its lightweight nature. The Hex Road product protected the school grounds for both the Aviva Premiership final between Leicester Tigers and Harlequins and the following days match between England and the Barbarians. Both of these exciting games attracted near full houses at the home of English Rugby. Jeremy Simpson, Business Development Manager of EFS commented, “Hex Road allows our clients to increase their revenues by maximising their use of their grounds without causing any damage. Unlike similar aluminium products, Hex Road doesn’t require heavy plant machinery to install it or overnight security to guard against metal thieves.”

Working for Event Management Service Ltd on behalf of Tribe Festivals Ltd, EFS were pleased to supply their innovative flooring solutions. Now in its eighth year the annual Wychwood Festival is known for its family friendly atmosphere and has been nominated Best Family Festival in the UK Festival Awards every year. EFS selected the following products from their range to support the festival: Temp-A-Path with 650m² used for pathways, pedestrian walkways and flooring within the bar areas Temp-A-Road with 290m² used within a dance tent to protect the ground and provide a stable platform for all entrants given the variable ground conditions. The Wychwood Festival was held at the Cheltenham racecourse on June 8th – 10th, and this year featured comedy and a variety of live bands including The Damned, Hawkwind and Dr and the Medics and attracted over 7,500 happy fans. Following the festival, the Independent newspaper described the event as – “you can go to festivals all over the world, but none will be quite as homely as Wychwood”. We were happy to be a part of it.

Following a £15 million refurbishment of London’s Leicester Square, Event Flooring Solutions were delighted to be appointed by Andy Cheeseman Productions to provide temporary walkways for the recent re-launch of this iconic venue. Making use of their outstanding Temp-A-Path product, EFS were happy to assist in this exciting re-opening. Following a briefing from ACP, the constraints of both delivery and team work were well understood by EPS. Working alongside their fellow contractors EFS were able to deliver and install 600m² of Temp-A-Path within the tight 21 hour deadline. EFS Business Development Manager, Jeremy Simpson commented “We were delighted to be offered this fantastic opportunity – but we had to be mindful of the logistical challenges it provided. Working with more than 10 separate companies can have its moments but we managed to complete the task within the timescale” He added, “With the logistics of both time and getting the product onto site I thought it would be tight, thankfully our guys managed to work alongside the other contractors to get the job done” As Portable Flooring Specialists – EFS were able to recommend the ideal solution for this exciting project. EFS were delighted to be involved in this remarkable regeneration project for the port and City of Liverpool. Working with Smart Space Buildings , EFS were able to provide an innovative flooring solution which enabled the dockside to be used again. As portable flooring specialists EFS were able to recommend the use of their Temp-A-Floor product, being strong durable and easy to install, the team were able to install over 800 m² with expansion joints and ramp edges within the previously constructed building. Business Development Manager of EPS, Jeremy Simpson commented, “It’s great to be a part of this exciting project re-opening the port for cruise ships.
